Its not always a Blown Head Gasket. It could be this gasket causing the misfire and white smoke.

Dude not being weird but you got a really soothing voice, if I lost everything and you said “it’ll be okay” I’d just assume it’s fact

I get goosebumbs when I see that retaining plate. I had the retaining screw break on one side of that intake. I didnt have a good extraction set so I just used a lot of gasket maker on that side. Its somehow still holding up 2 years later.

While i was changing the plugs and a bad fuel injector on my 2.7l 2010 charger i just randomly checked my lower intake bolt torques. All the bolts were just above finger tight. Dodged a bullet there ! 320k on the car original motor and that's the furthest that motor has ever been apart

Could always be a broken passage in the manifold too, had a monte that sipped coolant through a cracked intake.

On the 3.8 liter engines put gasket seal on and the corners put it on a little thicker. Right where it was leaking

I've gotten away with snugging down the bolts on my 3.1 gm intake manifold. Engine finally died 2 years later with a spun bearing. Happiest day of my life.

I put a light skim coat of RTV on both sides of the coolant ports. I've seen replacing these gaskets still leak coolant to. it will do that with corrosion on the intake manifold.

3.8L was a decent engine, it just liked to sip a little crude oil when it got some age to it.

Any chance those 3.6 jeeps can do it too, like model years 2015?

What would you recommend for valve lifters making noise, I put thick additives to oil and it stops the noise until the level goes down, so I have to refill it back up.

Man I had overheating problems on my 2011 durango 3.6 and I felt like it was just the oil cooler issue, was leaking oil too, and losing coolant and my mechanic said it was the gaskets so I went ahead and got a used motor with 96k miles for $1800 everything is Gucci now but how do I know 4sure he changed the motor out ?

These engines from these America cars look like they're built with materials you'd find on a popcorn machine, just look at that plastic, cheapest, least durable heat resistant plastic you could buy.

And yet was pretty funny as this is the same design International uses for the 7.3 and 6.9 IDI diesels

what are you using to do your surface prep ???? as that will make or break this job and the seal of that Gasket
