Dangerously addictive. That euphoric feeling after you did your first crossover turn without eating the pavement is pure ecstasy.

As an intermediate level skater, the ultimate pleasure is watching new people trying out skates and seeing how hard it was to start. And the joy of overcoming challenges.

I'm an inline skater and I just love it when people try inline skaing out - it's such an addictive activity, and sadly so underrated. It also reminds me of how hard it was at first to just do a crossover or stop. At the end of the day it's just a matter of balance (which is fundamental), stretch and a lot of practice. With time, you will gain a certain confidence in your skates, which is, in my opinion, a very beautiful feeling. They will become an extension of your feet 🥰

I've been inline skating for 15 years now, and it's so beautiful to see someone trying it out and really giving it an honest shot. Your power slide was really impressive since that is a more advanced skill. Something you could have done that might have made the whole process a bit smoother is practice balancing on one skate (while moving). This is very helpful when going faster since you will be more comfortable with a longer stride, and it will help your balance in general. Also, I would have suggested learning to skate backwards before trying the power slide.

I’m an amateur in-line skater and recently got a hairline fracture in my leg by skating💀 really felt stupid how I didn’t even learn some basic tricks and just decided to go skate on a slope and proceeded to crash into a wall, watching this while my fracture recovers, and dude you’ve given me some crazy inspiration. I’ll start skating again after full recovery and learn from my (and your) mistakes!

Mike Is not just learning a skill, if you realise.. he also goes throwing what helped him to learn the skill so that we understand how it works!
We would prefer watching something from Mike than another person doing a tutorial. Because Mike does quality content ❤️

I'm an expert inline skater and WOW, you picked it up fast. I was very impressed to see your powerslide. That's amazing.

Hey there! As a hockey player, I would tell you to not push hard when you are trying to sprint, but rather make little and fast steps until you gain enough speed. Pushing hard helps you mantain velocity, not gain it in the first place. It would be like start riding a bike with the hardest setting

Mike - "I need to learn how to go faster!"
Me - *panicking* "NO! you need to learn how to STOP first!"

I'm a self taught inline skater, I started when I was 10 years old, now almost 17. All you need is to have fun, and you'll want to learn. I got motivated and wanted to learned this cool skill. Don't give up! Keep practicing!

As someone who taught themselves how to rollerblade at the tender age of 6, I am thoroughly enjoying this video lol.

Note: It actually translated extremely well to ice skating. Had no issue on my first try.

For an amateur rollerblader like me that was really fun. And honestly i am shocked how much you progressed through one week. To get to this level it rook me a year and now i am blading for more than 4 years so well done. And also the last thing, you stopped making the begginer mistake which is bending your knees towards the center which most of the people struggle with good job!

Im quite lucky to have grown up in a skate culture with a skate park close by. Almost every weekend in the summer was spent at the park either on blades, quads or a board. I can ride all three pretty well and enjoy it still at almost 40 yrs old. Once you learn it, it never leaves you.
