Perpetual motion machine of Paul Scheerbart.
In the last days of 1907, the German novelist and exponent of glass architecture Paul Scheerbart embarked upon an attempt to invent a perpetual motion machine. For the next two and a half years he would document his ongoing efforts (and failures) from his laundry-room-cum-laboratory, hiring plumbers and mechanics to construct his models while spinning out a series of imagined futures that his invention-in-the-making was going to enable.
Short story of Paul Scheerbart:
This channel is created for the popularization of science and such a controversial topics in science as the concepts of perpetual motion machines.

Friction still gonna eventually stop this. Electric motor I'm guessing

I wish he let it stop so we can learn from it

I enjoy figuring out how these YouTubers make their "perpetual" motion machines. The vast majority are fake. But, it is theoretically possible to harness gravity and create a very efficient engine. It's a matter of converting potential energy into kinetic energy. This device appears to use the constant pull of gravity to release energy stored in the springs, which turns the wheels. The rotation rate is much higher than I would expect, which raises some suspicion. I'd like to know what materials he used, the size of the weights, and the angle of inclination (I assume optimum angles of 45 or 60).
