the rain drops on the windshield responding to the car as it accelerates and turns through corners is an incredibly extra detail, you can tell it was definitely a passion project from the devs

That's a good looking game.
Sony needs to bring it back.
BTW John linneman of digital foundry said that Granturismo 6 was pushed to PS3 consoles only after the polyphony team realised what Driveclub team had brought for the PS4 launch. The Polyphony Digital guys couldn't believe it and simply realised that GT6 couldn't match and allowed for a PS3 only release.

I really hope the new Forza and GT games can match this graphically, just imagine this game at a higher resolution and ray tracing.

2014: maybe the year of the best racing games: Driveclub and Forza Horizon 2

I agree with the rewind bit. When I play with it turned on i push the car way harder knowing i can recover anyway. To me it's so much more satisfying to turn all assists off, no rewinds. That way the racing becomes so much more tense. Especially these races where you have a car that really has too much power and you're trying to keep that back end in check. Oh it's so much better that way.

The graphics are amazing, mainly because the developers didn’t care about car list, or map size, they chose quality over quantity

Driveclub has to be one the most excellent, most epic, most beautiful, most fastest feel and the one of my favorite racing games ever!

I remember playing this game a couple months after launch as a christmas gift, I think I was 11-12 at the time so I was well... uh... bit bad... so I didn't enjoy it at all because I felt like I wasn't making any progress. I've heard lots of great things about this game since after going a bit older, but I unfortunately gave away my PS4 to the other side of my family and can't get it back, so I'll never be able to give this game another go, which makes me sad because it looks genuinely beautiful.

also, the game has a Gumpert Apollo 10/10 game

I remember playing this game at my friend's house, It was mindblowing and one thing I remember so much was the BIKES dlc I just ENJOYED so much that, riding a bike in the rain was just beautifull

And talking about the developer of Driveclub I love the motorstorm games you should talk about those games :)
And great video btw

A small Note:
That bridge really exists.
The route is located in the south of india at border of Kerala and Tamil nadu.

And me being from that exact place it makes all the more sweeter for me since absolutely no game features my State eventhough we host Indian Rallys in that exact place

And to add to car sounds, no game has ever gotten the real sounds of the Pagani Huayra or Huayra BC literally none.

thanks for giving this game a chance and taking a time to appreciate it. it always warms my heart to see it getting some recognition that it clearly deserves, being a monument of pure love and ingenuity. it's a shame that you can't get the DLCs anymore, they are brilliant and have some of the more challenging content, too. I, too, got into DC pretty late, by the time Evolution Studios was already shut down, but the servers were still working. so I was lucky enough to have exprerienced all the best things that the game had to offer, except for the fact that the multiplayer wasn't really crowded by that time. it is still a pure joy to get into it from time to time, although I completed pretty much everything that was released (this took a significant amount of time, as I'm not very good at this). I'll always be grateful to the Evo guys for their final masterpiece. thank you for the video, your narration is very pleasant to listen to :)

I absolutely loved this game but I wish it hadn't have been pushed away like that. Their weather system was like nothing I'd ever seen before and the racing felt very authentic, not as realistic as a simulator title like Asseto Corsa or Gran Turismo but the game delivers and I honestly loved the challenge and de-cluttered feel the game had.

I always remember seeing the raindrops moving on the windscreen and thinking just how cool that is! It's mad nothing like it has been done since! I think my biggest issue with this game was that it didn't have local multiplayer, I was a big fan of evolution studio from there motorstorm days and they where some of the best local multiplayer racers I've ever played! Was sad to see them leave it out on drive club. Though it was really painful to see them be shut down! But playstation seems to be doing that alot these days with there studios

Driveclub was my first PS4 title is without a doubt one of my favorite racers of this generation and one of the best simcade racers I've played. This game was more than just it's incredible graphics especially for those willing to put the time into it. I love this game and I'm grateful that I still have this game with all of the DLC included. Plus this game to me still has the best cockpit animations out of most racing games nowadays. lol

I'm so glad you covered this game because it's a gem. While it does have it flaws, like a proper quality girlfriend it has its own way to grow on you, especially with the dlc cars AND using steering wheel it offers some amazing experience and I actually miss it after switching from Playstation to XBox. Sometimes I fantasize about it when playing Forza but that has nowhere the attention to detail like Driveclub. It will be fondly remembered.

Well made video! 👍 Really nice to hear you go over a lot of the details that make Driveclub so special.

Glad to have been along for the ride with this game. From the day of release, during the amazing post-launch support, until the unfortunate studio closure, and the many years thereafter. A real gem, with the DNA of a bygone era. (it always gave me NFS Porsche Unleashed vibes). Driveclub has absolutely become one of my all-time favorite racing games. Thanks for the vid!
