Have you ever seen a Portable Nintendo GameCube console? Especially one that looks EXACTLY like a GameCube controller?? This Portable Nintendo GameCube console looks so cool... now let's see how it works! This is one of those consoles that I would've loved to have as a kid - it's just mind blowing to take a home console, like the Nintendo GameCube, on the go. Is this Portable Nintendo GameCube console the best console I've purchased yet??

For 900$ I was kinda expecting you to be able to actually use GC discs.

Considering it's basically a trimmed Wii motherboard that price is a lot more than I would expect (considering how cheap you can get them). I would have expected around $450ish. The print job on the case looks really good though compared to a lot of the other ones.

So just a discussion on pricing... since I know people will be questioning the cost of it (I paid almost $900 after tax and shipping).
The cost of materials is $236, excluding the 3d printed case, gamecube buttons, and wii motherboard. Not sure how much it costs to order a 3D print, but let's assume we order the 3d print, a gamecube controller, and a wii and the total material cost is up to $300. I have no idea how much time it took the builder to put this together, but including building, troubleshooting, and testing, I'm gonna guess it took at least 20 hours of work. Maybe more, maybe less, but with a build like this, there's a lot of troubleshooting and re-doing things that you do wrong the first time. And that's not including the hours that went into research to become familiar with the custom portable console world. So assuming 20 hours of labor at $25/hr (which is a pretty low hourly rate if you have the skill set to build this), that's another $500. So $300+$500=$800. Just going off of that logic, I don't think paying $900 for this was a stretch. I've mentioned it before, but "professionals" in the portable modding community commission portable consoles for more than $1, 000 (a version of the GBoy a few years ago was being commissioned for $1, 500).

I love how most of these handheld Wii and GameCube consoles run the Wii and GameCube library of games and as well as the Homebrew software being installed, and as well as the button layout itself, quite interesting

Imagine having the ability to spend almost $900 on random video game stuff...

This is honestly one of those "above my pay grade" type builds. Would have been smooth if the batteries had their own bays.

I started working on building one.
Just got the wii trimmed down and most of the custom PCBs soldered and ready for wiring.
I had the case printed to this spec and I'm super excited to see how it turns out!

If the console doesn't go to the home menu that means there is no bluetooth module installed. I've built several of these and would love to talk to you about it if you're down, and to help more people understand what goes into making a console like this

Hey I’m a portablizer myself so here’s some info. This spesific one is called the ashida made by a modder named wesk. The price for parts is about 500$ and can take more than a week to make considering work, eating, sleeping, etc. 800$ for this is a big deal from other prices. I can answer most of y’all’s questions if you want.

I've got one of these too, I love it! I believe that button you are unsure of is for syncing a Wii controller. Also, my right speaker gets staticy as well and I thought it was an issue with the wiring, but maybe it isn't since you are having the same issue.
If you don't have the MX chip, VC games usually won't work correctly, but I believe they are working to fix this in the next version of RVLoader.

That "dragon" logo is for hiidra (hydra). Hiidra is the game loader written by a modder named Aurelio. He is Italian, so the circle is a pizza and the 3 "dragons" are hydra heads.

Interesting you have one because they don't sell it on Ali-Express 😲

The first game I’d want to play on this is Lego Star Wars I. A close second is Sonic Adventure 2 battle and rounding it out at third would have to be Need For Speed Carbon. The GameCube controller triggers are also probably the most satisfying triggers in gaming history. I want one.

I remember seeing a guy who made one of these years ago. Took him quite awhile to perfect the process and the custom printing. I missed my calling if guys are willing to pay $900 for this stuff.
