You just inspired me to make this happen myself! I have a list of all the materials and it may take me a few years because of how expensive everything is but I will pursue it because a portable GameCube is an awesome concept!

The screen that I have uses the barrel plug to get power from the batteries.

It also means if you have a standard 12 volt power supply you can plug it in to get the screen up and running.

Unfortunately the part that goes around the cube is broken so it won't work properly and my battery doesn't hold a charge.

The black color of that battery actually looks better than a purple one would. It matches the handle & ports.

I've got a Gameboy player on my GC in the living room with Pokemon Crystal sitting in it. Absolutely awesome accessory.

There is also a monitor attachment for the GameCube from a company called Intec which will allow you to play your Game Boy, Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance games via the Game Boy Player add-on. If you have the Intec GameCube monitor attachment, then you don't need any add-ons from Joytech and Interact.
