The season starts quite slow, but builds and becomes an emotional roller coaster. I think you'll love it! :)

You don’t really need that much background for this season! A lot of the mains are relatively new (save for Isak, Jonas, and Sana of course) but honestly this season can be treated as a stand alone. Some background you may need if you haven’t already picked it up is that Noora used to live in the collectiv ( where isak lives) but moved to London with her boyfriend. The other two housemates are older/ in uni I believe. The show does skip days because clips weren’t released daily. Finally, it starts off slow but one of my favorite things about Skam was the ability to build tension. Enjoy!!

So 4 characters got their own season.
Season 1 was Ewa, the girl with the beanie who had the party. She is ex girlfriend to Jonas, Isaks best friend.
Season 2 is Nooras, the girl who is in London. Love her season!
Season 3, Isak as you can tell, best season!
And season 4 is Sana, the badass Muslim girl. Really good season too, love Sana!

This show had me in a chokehold when it was airing, especially when we didn’t know when during the week when the clips were going to drop so we were constantly refreshing the website hoping for a crumb of media update from the characters. The show is so addicting like when they were releasing text messages btw characters on the website, They had the whole fandom literally yelling at Even to respond and reply back to Isak.

Remembering names could be hard, watching a new show, especially when it´s foreign names, so here is a little help with some of the main characters. But it doesn´t matter how you pronounce them, don´t worry about that.

1:00 Vilde. ("Vil Deh")
0:59 Eva and P-Chris kissing. (Eva was the main character in season 1)
1:18 Isak (pronounced like Lisa, drop the L, add a k, but you can pronounce in the English way too)

7:40 Linn & Eskild are Isak's room mates.
8:02 Noora is the former room mate of Linn & Eskild. She was the main character in season 2.
9:41 Yes, Magnus is Magne in Ragnarök. The actor who plays P-Chris is Fjor, and the actress who plays Sonja in Skam plays Saxa in Ragnarök.

fun fact norwegian is very similar to swedish, it’s mainly just a slight twist in the spelling or pronounciation of a word that sets them apart. and some words are the same but mean different things, eg ”rolig” means fun in swe but calm in norwegian

so glad you're watching Skam. To give you a bit of a context and hopefully make it a bit easier to understand each season follows one main character and their specific "shame" (SKAM means shame) and all the episodes in the season are exclusively from their point of view only. Season 1 was Eva (the ginger girl who hosted the party) who was dating Jonas (Isak's best friend, the guy in the tub with the curly hair) Eva, Joans and Isak all knew each other already and had been friends since middle school then Eva met Sana, Vilde, Noora and Chris during her season. Season 2 was about Noora, the girl who's now in London and her season revolved around her relationship with William (a character who was in season 1 and 2 and it won't be in season 3...let's just say they're the embodiment of the teen drama couple lol) and she used to live in the apartment with Eskild and Lin (the guys you saw in the clip in bed) and it's like a house share for students, you'll see why Isak lives there now during this season so no spoiler. Season 4 is about Sana, the girl who currently has Isak's drugs

So as at this point in which you're jumping into it Isak and the girls all know each other already, the girls already know Eskild and Lin and they are all friends, Even and Emma are new characters who first appeared in this season. I'm so happy you guys are reacting to it and I hope you end up loving it so much that you'll want to catch up with the other seasons (even off camera) 'cause as a 23 years old I have no shame in saying this is one of my favorite shows ever and I wish I had something like this as a teen, throughout the season they talk about so many important topics like consent, individualism, sex education, bullying, racism, islamophobia, sexism, sexual assaults, revenge porn, identity, homophobia, mental health YOU NAME IT AND SKAM COVER IT and in such a natural and effortless way. CAN'T WAIT TO SEE MORE OF YOUR REACTIONS (So sorry for this comment, it ended up being 10 times longer then intended lol)

Really good season. Yes he is slick, cheeky and kinda charming around her, but you can feel, that he is not really that into it and just using her as a cover. But you instantly see how into Even he is.

I watched season 3 first as well and didn't actually watch the first 2 seasons until s3 went on hiatus so you'll do fine with figuring things out even without having seen s1 and s2 first. Season 3 was by far the best in my opinion and the story is really beautiful. Haven't watched this show since then which was a few years ago so I'm really excited to relive it with you guys and see your reactions. I just know you're gonna love it as well!!

Love Skam! IIRC they uploaded the scenes in real time. If the scene took place on a Monday at 21.21, it was uploaded on a Monday at 21.21. Once a week they collected all scenes into a full episode.
There were text messages and Instagram posts uploaded between episodes, that added to the story. I think you can find English versions of them.
Oh! The Norwegian word for ”closet” and ”locker” is the same. Just saying. ☺️
And the song lyrics are sometimes very important for the story.

Love this! I can tell from how you reacted to Sana that you would love the whole series so I hope you do go back and watch earlier seasons at some point. And season 4 is really great too. But 3 is my favorite.

I remember always running to my phone when I was on break checking if there was any new content on the site - even just an Insta post would make me so happy. You are in for such a treat! You should really watch the other seasons as well they are all good (even though season 3 is the best)!
