Game Theory: Winning the Game of Life - Game Theory Explained

Game Theory is an interesting subject. It has implications on all of our lives, and it's not something that's blatantly obvious all the time. It's the science of strategy, and it's pretty cool.

Hey Aperture, I’m letting you know that I appreciate your diligence when making these videos. These are part of my evening routine, and I watch them right before bed to unwind and relax. It’s almost like reading a book. These videos let my mind wander and loosen up, and I really am grateful for you and your content.

idk who designed the game of life but it sucks. yea it starts promising, you get better stuff by farming, increase your attributes and such but later on your attributes decrease even to the point of going totally bust. if you don't like the game you can't really quit, you have to play by rules made by others and you can't really change the rules much either. you may also experience bugs, yet again out of your hands, that may terminate your unit at any point (at least some of them can be fixed). even if you are generally speaking a nice person some may not tolerate your views or way of life or beliefs and even if you play life and abide all the rules and pass all road blocks you may still not reach your goals or find happiness and you're always competing with everybody for everything. the game may terminate at any point and the more you play the closer you get to the end but you don't really know when that is either. no but seriously if somebody did design all this, they really trolled everybody really hard and if they are watching us, how we all don't get along and bicker and experience all the hardships of the game of life, they are probably loling hard at us. and another funny thing, they designed the game in such a way that we as a whole will not stop playing, there will always be new people forced into this game without even given a choice whether they wanna play or not and a lot of them get bad start and the game is already rigged so hard against them that they may not even enjoy it at all. one day the game may end for our whole race but it may also restart and repeat itself infinitely and maybe that is the case even now but sadly we do not remember if we played it before

This actually helps me out alot. I spend alot of time trying to guess what others will do before they do it, whether it be people trying and get closer to me as a individual, insult me or my work, or simply just having a good chat for a short while. Most of these predictions are pretty accurate, either because of me self-fulfilling these prophecies or actual good guesswork.

Either way, hyper analyzing these small, sometimes insignificant interactions that I have with others is something I enjoy pondering on, this video reaffirms that its not a waste of time, just a fun way to pass it.

If you can effectively anticipate at least 65% of most probable outcomes, then you can put the remaining 35% into a much larger category. But analyzing 65% of every probable outcome is not possible. At least not in the sense your thinking. If you can figure out general similarities between outcomes, you can group them together, what I mean is this. If you have a choice between paths 1, 2, and 3, and each path has a subsequent 3 paths, you only really have a 1/9 chance of getting the perfect choice. But let’s say in path 2, it’s branches 1, and 3 result in a failure, or undesirable outcome because of the decision to choose path 2, you can assume that the entire path 2 is not a good choice. But the problem arises with erratic outcomes. In path 2, the second path might actually be the best, because of that, best way to calculate that, is to play the matching game. What makes path 1 work? What elements. Now, with that in mind, if you can do that with many choices at once, you suddenly are able to do the impossible. Also a lot of paths are so improbable, that they will all have the same property. This property is, the fact that nothing can change the arrival of that outcome. (Ex the world exploding). There are certain things that are not worth wasting time to account for, like what you would do if your opponent tried to kill you at the Tetris world championship. The idea has such low probability that its not worth exploring. Unless certain conditions are met. These conditions are specific to the person, and the thing that’s being analyzed. If the opposing player had a history of anger issues and they were prone to becoming extremely violent, then yes. It’s a possibility they might kill you.
