What Can $10 Get in NORTH KOREA? (Bizarre Place)

North Korea is (by a long shot) the world's most interesting country. I visited the capital city of Pyongyang in April 2017, way back when I first got my hands on a video camera, and luckily I was able to document it. It was a wild trip, to say the least, and I'm glad that I can share my experiences with you in this video.

Buckle up for the next 9 minutes as I take you deep inside Pyongyang, North Korea to see how many things I could buy for $10 USD or less -- I think you will be quite surprised!

This was legit the least expected entry in this series. Knowing that most people in North Korea make less than $10 in a month, this isn't a challenge but a reality for them.

Drew for your safety, please do not visit or even consider visiting again. Even this video contains content that the government would not be happy with. 1:40 "It is not a happy place, the streets are dark and depressing. The people have a scared look on their face" and 2:46 "I took full advantage and spoke to as many locals as I could on the sidelines" this is you openly admitting and proving you broke rules in North Korea.

The perspective that is missing here is that the special food he ate at the restaurant which he ranked as cheap and low quality was far, far, far, superior to anything regular North Koreans would ever get to eat. Just the fact that there was meat there put it off the charts. Basically for $10, Drew experienced the Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous, North Korean style.

Never thought I’d see the day that Drew would harness a particle of power from Gordon Ramsey by calling the dishes subpar

Nice video. Just narrating what you experienced without any bias. Nice change of pace when it comes to North Korea videos.

Drew there are some isolated small republics near Russia 🇷🇺 . That’s could be a spot for the future . I just returned from Crimea and must say very few foreigners visit the peninsula these days. Some Videos will be up on the channel in the coming weeks for the community!

Is it me or does looking at this video make you feel...uneasy? Like, cautious? Especially when you see the parts of the people?

I visited as a tourist as well, went with a Chinese group to save money. I forget how much it was but wasn’t too expensive. It was a really interesting experience. Now I live in Seoul lol.

I'm actually surprised that your guides would let you film.
North Korea is the only place that I have no desire to visit.

Fun fact: Drew has had a better time in North Korea, Iraq, and Afghanistan than in Chad.

Really appreciate how respectful you are even when describing such a horrendous place. Takes a lot of class to focus on positives in a place that doesn’t have much of that
