2022 Chrysler 300 S pros and cons (**rant warning**)

I recently had the opportunity to drive a 2022 Chrysler 300 S (the "sport" version) around for a day. It was definitely better than I though it would be, but there was still a lot about it that made me wrinkle my nose and shake my head.

It's basically a big fat list of the pros and cons.

Got one as a loaner from a dealership cause they had messed up big time and just grabbed one off the lot to appease us. We had the car for 30+ days, and drove the hell out of it. We LOVED that 300S when we had it, and everyone that knew us commented how nice it looked when they saw it. (Gunmetal grey with the black rims). We would definitely consider buying one. To each their own.

The good news is that it will be a lot more reliable than a BMW.

Yes there is temp control buttons! Look on either side of the fan speed knob. The red UP and blue DOWN arrows.

It's crazy to hear someone routinely calling it a Slow Car when everybody who has a Mopar with the 3.6 that's teamed up with the ZF 8 speed Torque Flight talk about how quick it feels for being so big and only a V6. I have a 21 300 Touring L thats rated at less than the S with only 292 HP and the Throttle Response is so amazing combined with its quick Shifts and Steering reactions makes the car nimble and quick.

It’s not a race car. It’s a luxury car.

Whah? There is buttons to adjust temp AND settings…..humble advice, learn the car before you review it. 🤨

I went on a Mopar binge, coming off of a Nissan binge. I had a '08 Charger, a '16 Charger, and a '13 300S. I liked the '13 300S so much that I traded it in for a '22 300S with the Hemi engine. It's fast as hell. I have had bouts of irresponsibility, and have smoked numerous cars. Audio, Nissan, Mercedes, etc. When you get proficient at paddle shifting, it pushes. I had a 2016 Nissan Maxima Platinum, it's narrow compared to the 300. It cost me 44k for a fully loaded, Velvet colored car. Had to drive to Atlanta to get it. It was worth it, as I saved 13k. The dealerships in Jacksonville, FL wanted 57k for the same car, but I could not find one fully loaded, and in the color I wanted in the state of FL. I've had it for 11 months. I have been having too much fun driving it, as I need tires at 10, 768 miles. You can do a breakstand wIth no effort. Hence me needing new tires. It's addictive.

Plenty fast for a car of its size and heft. 300hp is more than 90% want or need. Some of your comments are just dead wrong haha

I personally love my heated and cooled cup holders and my heated seats in the front and rear seats. I personally love my paddle shifters in sport mode. I have lots of fun in brappy brap mode.

This car has 2 big advantages over the Charger...which is the same vehicle other than style.. Lower insurance rates and lower cost. You can find 1yr old off lease or off rental for low 20's...where Chargers will be high 20's to low 30's.

Interested in hearing what reliable, sporty alternatives might be to this 300 S. Thank you!

I own one of these. You're just a skinny dude. Chrysler/Mopar are built the the big and tall. Which you don't look big.

I have this car. 127, 000 beatufiul troublefree miles. Everything is stock 5.7l hemi engine. Only thing I have replaced was the brake pads and rotors and typical engine oil change. The best car I have ever owned. Beautiful, fun to drive and reliable!

If you are a larger man, they are very comfortable, not putting knees 8n your throat, it’s not a sports car especially 8n v6, it’s a daily driver in traffic, it’s very comfortable for that purpose, just saying

I have a 2015 Chrysler 200s with the 3.6L and AWD. I love it!

The 200 is much smaller than the 300 (200 is built on same chassis as the Dodge Dart), so when you put that 3.6L in it I must say its a very quick car.

I’ve had sports cars, trucks, SUVs, motorcycles (both cruisers and sport bikes) and this is still one of my favorite cars. I have the v6 AWD and i think it’s perfect. I know I may have the taste of an old man but I think they look great. In a world of crossovers and boring cars I think the styling is excellent. To me it’s as fast as it needs to be, has a great sound system, is very comfortable, handles as well as it needs to, and the AWD is a huge plus for the winter time. As a commuter car it’s perfect. I always enjoy the drive and it’s even better on long trips. Gas mileage is good and maintenance is pretty cheap

If you want more performance I’d highly recommend for Chrysler get the 300s 5.7 V8 or the newly 6.4 V8 300C . I just recently left the V6 2019 Chrysler touring (292HP ) for the 300s 5.7L ( 363HP ) it’s awesome love the power just the natural aspirated Hemi sound !.
