You can't appreciate how gigantic the A380 is unless you see it in person. There was one next to us at De Gaulle a few years back. Absolutely massiveness

I wouldn't like to imagine Ryanair flying this.

2:10 i like how Lockheed martin is so used to making supersonic jets that they have to specify that the jet is subsonic.

I’m a 69yo disabled veteran and and retired pilot. I flew for a living for 35 years. Over all those years I flew a variety of aircraft. The nicest flying jet that I flew was the Lockheed L1149 4 jet engine corporate use aircraft. I was fun. The FAA Examiner who gav3 me the type rating checkride had been President Johnson’s Jetstar pilot. Damn that was a great flying machine.

Once again a absolute visual masterpiece! I can see the effort put into the models and renders! Some shots even looked real! Very awesome work Nick! Cheers to another 100k!

7:06 It's so good to finally see a proper range projection and not just the funny circles!

Man. Sometimes I wish we lived in a world where designs weren't limited by practicality

Wow! Has it been 2 and half years already? I remember the original video and I'm so happy to see how much your channel has grown. Your skills have also improved a lot!

Excellent points here. Lockheed were the leaders in exotic composite materials at that time (Stealth Fighter, etc), so looking back, yes, they could have instead looked at a small/middle-sized jet with ultra-long range, and experimented with that idea instead. (Hindsight 20-20 etc.)

Have to say, Boeing made the right call to develop 777 and later 787 while cancelling 747-500 600 and 700... Which would be quite interesting to see those featured next on Found And Explained.
I hope they can recover with recent blunders...

the cgi is absolutely stunning and looks almost like real life! but if it were built, just imagine a billionaire getting a hold of it and making it into a flying mansion!

This could've been an amazing cargo plane, like the an-225

Flying the A380 is still the most comfortable plane! I wish something like this was built that could give a bit of room to move around.

I’m an aircraft engineer on the A380 - believe me, she is huge to work and very labour intensive. MTOW of 565 tonnes for an aircraft that can travel halfway around the globe always amazes me. Just don’t ask me about wheel changes and lightning strike inspections and repairs 😮

I really like how the cutaway model even showed a few bags falling out of the side of the storage compartment. Nice touch lol.

Lockheed has never had much success in the private sector, which is too bad. I loved flying on the amazing and comfortable L-1011.

Good and interesting as always. But I think there is a typo in the range discussion at 7:18, you use 5, 900 km twice in conversion from nm ..

What an amazing looking plane. It would have been quite a spectacle watching this thing landing and taking off.

When we thought Lockheed was already crazy with the CL-1201, they propose this.

I wish Lockheed had entered the civilian aircraft more. Their L-1011 was apparently quite lived and they also had a piston engine/later turboprop that saw success. Shame I was born too late to experience Lockheed’s aircraft.
