it's almost been 5 years, yet i still cry to this. what i find interesting is that everytime asriel speaks, frisk comes back with twice as many words. asriel KNOWS he screwed up, he knows what he did was wrong. he tells himself over and over that it's his fault. he did that. he was a monster. he can't forgive himself. he has it stuck in his head. however, frisk tells him it's ok. everything will be alright. that they'll be right be his side. frisk talks twice as much as asriel because just saying “its ok” won't help. he needs as much comfort as possible to let him know that it IS indeed going to be ok.

I just refuse to forget this game. Despite being very simplistic, Undertale has changed my life like nothing else has. I'll forever be thankfull for this game's existance.

It's sad, but it's happy, but it's guilty, but it's relief, but it's loneliness, but it's hope, but it's grief...


But all mixed together.


An explainable emotion.
But I can try

It's sad, because it's relatable. It's happy because it's so well done. It's guilty because I feel like Asriel in this song. It's relief because I know there are other people who feel like me. It's loneliness because no one talks about it. It's hope because this song lets me believe that one day I'll find someone who'll make me happy. But it's grief, because my best friend left me, and this song reminds me of that.


It takes a LOT to get me to feel emotions other than tired, and sad. But this was just so well done.

They're a contrast of each other, and it brings them into a masterpiece.

I've been having what I like to call "the dark times" for the past couple of months, and this song has sincerely helped me.

I found this song a long time ago when my best friend and I used to cosplay Asriel and Frisk. I always identified with him as always being left behind or not deserving mercy. She sung as Frisk and it was a realization that as my best friend, she won't ever leave me behind. We've been friends for over 6 years and have a matching tattoo! I doubt anyone will read this but thank you for helping me realize I won't always be left behind by making this song and making our friendship stronger. Thank you <3
