Selling a car that only has $9000 left but is worth $12000?

Buying something else will make you pay sales tax which some of the $3000 profit goes towards, plus dealer fees, registration fees.

Listen, just pay off the $9k and keep it till it falls apart.

Go to the nearest local bank with the buyer and sell the car there, pay off the remaining amount on the loan and give the title to the buyer. Being at the bank will also make the transaction feel a lot more secure as well.

What happens when you pay a person for a car with a lien, they give you a car and a bill of sale and they fail to pay off the lender? Now I have a car and no clear title.

It's sometimes very inconvenient to sell a car privately but it's almost always worth it 👍💵

Yep, in Illinois you can goto the DMV and get the title returned in the new owners name, same way as if selling a car and you lost the title. Instead of waiting for lost title then transferring it. You can do it all there and thr title will come to the new buyer. But on a lien you would need a letter stating it has been paid off in full

Easy. Take a selfie and post the specs and price of the car.

Have the buyer go to the bank so you witness it get a cashiers check for the pay off of the car and the difference will be a check or cash to you. There’s also a duplicate bill of sale form that you could fill out and the DMV will mail the new pink directly to your new buyer so you’re out of the picture check that out

Buying a car every couple of years, or leasing a car every couple of years is just a waste of money in my opinion. Buy a car, and keep it at minimum for 7-8 years.

When it came to purchase a house, he couldn’t afford it.
