1. Ragi batter = 1 cup ragi + 1 cup amaranth whole +1/2 cup whole urad dal + 1/4 cup poha + 1 TBSP methi seeds ,
2. 1 cup ragi (finger millet) flour + 1 cup bajra (pearl millet) flour+1/2 cup whole urad dal + 1/4 cup poha + 1 TBSP methi seeds ,
3.1 cup ragi (finger millet) flour + 1 cup oats, powdered +1/2 cup whole urad dal + 1/4 cup poha + 1 TBSP methi seeds ,
4.1 cup ragi (finger millet) flour +1 cup jowar (sorghum) flour +1/2 cup whole urad dal + 1/4 cup poha + 1 TBSP methi seeds,
5.1 cup ragi (finger millet) flour +1 cup raw rice +1/2 cup whole urad dal + 1/4 cup poha + 1 TBSP methi seeds
Choose the variations as per your choice or taste and make Idli dosa Batter
Adding Salt during fermentation or post-fermentation is still a debatable topic so I add little salt during fermentation and adjust if needed while making idlis.
Poha is optional and skip it if you are diabetic.
Whisk the batter by hand as this traditional method helps in improving fermentation.
