"The hospital chief was a bit camera shy because his Mandarin is not very good. Most of their patients speak their local dialect."
Wow, that speaks it all about the lie that the Tibetan language has been eliminated by the CCP.

And all the books are in Tibetan language.

1:08 I saw 僧人 (monks, seniors, handicapped, students have priorities) written at every window. It seems monks are respected and if China tried to prosecute religions, you would not see monks being listed there. It's ordered even higher than seniors. Tibetan scripts can be seen on the wall too. medicine, religion, culture are still visible. Where is cultural genocide some claimed to exist in China?

Thanks again for the informative tour - glad to be able to piggy-back on Daniel's many questions posed to the Tibetian doctors. I'm a true believer with traditional medicine and cures.

Daniel, Thanks again for a great video. A good introduction to Tibetan medicine. Just like the Chinese medicine there are not scientific derived but by experience, possibly by trial and error, over hundreds or even thousands years. They have done their parts to keep the civilisation to survive to today.

With the help of large-scale general survey and modern medicine, Tibet has nearly eradicated the hydatid disease, a parasite desease, which has caused severe damage to many Tibetan families. Tibetans deserve better life.

The medical paintings on the wall are one kind of Thangka, called Manthang. There are 79 paintings, and the whole collection is called The Blue Beryl. It's the interpretation of the Four Tantras, which are the four books the doctors showed. The Blue Beryl is really fascinating, and it including not only medical knowledge, but also religion, lifestyle and Tibetan culture. I'm so glad I can see these culture is preserved so well!

I'm always impressed how beautiful must be to have that many years of history!!!! Just imagine the knowledge they have, after centuries treating people.

The hospital is well decorated and warm. Not overcrowded. Everything seem nice and clean. Much better than standard/government hospitals in Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand.
Thanks for the video. Very interesting indeed!

There are so many secrets to be discovered in medicine. Each civilization has its special and effective
way of treating illnesses. Tibetan medicine has its own good points.
