Fabulous advice. This ties in with decluttering too. On a regular basis, declutter your house and get rid of unwanted items that no longer serve a purpose.

This guy's great, seen a few of his.

"Agitation" - this is why a change of environment (new places) can help.

When in familiar places with familiar people - they _expect_ familiar behaviours from you. GO somewhere else, BE someone else.

This has been true for me! It’s not easy work.
Repetition is the Key.

The agitation part is beautifully explained. It's also the same reason why you should have a destined area in your apartment (for example a desk) which you only use to study. Once the habit of only studying at your desk forms, it creates a mental association. Hence, it's less effective than studying on the sofa you use to watch Netflix all the time for example.

Making someone uncomfortable sounds more like an interrogation tactic. Love is really the best emotion that brings real change. It is love, (and feeling safe), that opens us up to that good, new change (It isn't easy, but slowly by the power of love, we begin to not care what society thinks about us.) Maybe the changes you want, and torture yourself over, are not really what you want.

I lived in the same house for 27 years. Suffered 5 years of narc abuse, lost my home, became homeless at 53. I’ve moved 25 times in 23 months. I remember thinking I was actually glad to be getting out of that house. Now I’m thinking I should have put in more effort (focus) to change my patterns where I was. It was a bit hard with the effects of psychological and physical abuse. What do you do when ur brain is mush, you know what needs to change but literally can barely function from abuse?

Well, that's an nteresting way to look at motivating yourself. I actually needed this right NOW. Thank you! My cell phone was reading my mind again. 😒So weird. I hadn't said a word.

This is so profound in such a short time wow. The F. E. A. R. acronym I think can not only be applied to self brainwashing but also as a useful tool to self counteract gaslighting.. Thank you Mr Hughes for all that you do for Joe Average so to speak.;-)
