About this video:
This is a rating climb series (or speedrun) where I play games against players from different rating levels, starting at 600 and working all the way up to 2200. In this video I play players in the 800 to 1000 range. I try to focus on the thought process behind the moves I'm making. You will learn all sorts of chess strategies, chess tactics, chess ideas, and chess concepts. I talk about how to think during a chess game and what the thought process should be.

I just wanted to appreciate the fact that you remain quiet in between moves, a lot of lessons ramble on talking non stop in between for more tips which personally makes it harder to focus on the moment. You do a great job of staying silent and letting us think about what's going on which really helps give a clear dynamic of the reason behind the moves

I like the way you explain your moves, it really helps understand why top players play the moves they play :)

My 6yo son has taken a strong interest in chess over the past several months and I'm so glad I found this channel. It has been way more helpful than a lot of the channels with much higher subs. You are an incredible teacher to beginners explaining things that make sense not for just this one move, but principles that can be applied in any game. I'm loving these and your traps series. My son is improving quickly thanks to these videos.

I just hit 800 after several weeks of frustrating grind. Even though on a large scale it's not that impressive, I'm so proud of myself since I grinded from 400 lol Yeah, I was down bad. Thanks for the help, man

These videos are really great because we get insights from your thought processes --- up to a point. In almost every game you run low on time, leaving us to watch you mop up and quickly win the game. That's not what we came for. So I would suggest that you please play 10 minute games instead. :)

some dangerous 900 players out there, never take it for granted that they will be an easy win !

I mentioned this last video i faced weaker players almost at 1100 than this 900ish ones, it feels so random. Ps: Also nice tip about not giving up the open file to the opponent rooks, im consuming a lot of chess content lately and its the first time i saw someone explaining that

What a great channel, one of the first I have actually subscribed to. Hope it will get the large following it deserves

I think at the end 27:48 the opponent could play knight to g5 that protect the checkmate & save the knight

I just love how you explain what you are looking for in tactics instead of why you moved somewhere.

Best channel for explaining the moves and thought processes that I've found, some people are natural teachers, and you are one! Subscribed, and thanks!

Holy crap Nelson the guy just kept resigning in no where near bad positions😊

At 12:04, opponent can capture pawn with Knight, and if Nelson catches back with pawn, opponent captures pawn with their queen and create a fork with the king and the bishop.

You make it seem so easy, when I play I get myself all muddled up and into lots of weird positions. I think I need to trade more and get better at end games.

Around 6:12, b5 would have been a nice way to end the game early.
