This is one of the coolest things i ever saw for 3D printing. Thank you for your work and for taking your time and uploading a video of it. Also, thank you youtube algorithm.

I always wondered why the 3d printing Speed Boat Race competition banned servos from the build. Everyone in motion control knows how much better they are at high speed, as well as having feedback.

You would think they would want to encourage servos so that they could maybe start getting cheaper motors and encoders or full printer conversion kits from China.

Hope you have great success and that leads to wider servo adoption for 3d printing.

Pretty neat, ive been running dc servos on a core XY for a while now, I wished I had went with a brand that has auto tuning but still once manual tuned the result is insane when you triangulate the speed sound heat precision etc compared to traditional motors even hybrid steppers

Nice build, such overpower/overkill but 100% worth it!

Availability ??? Love it! Now, THAT'S what I'm talkin' about. Great work. Thanks for sharing.

I throw away LOTS of those servo boxes every week at work...most are good if not 'like new'. I should make one of these :)

Very impressive, one of the coolest printers I have ever seen.
Is there any more information about it available?

Hope you'll be showing off some printing, even if it means the bed launches the print into the wall 😁
Especially curious where the "next bottleneck" is... hotend flow? part cooling? ringing to the point where input shaping can't compensate? servo acceleration wearing down frame rigidity?

PLEASE print a benchy with it. I would like to see how fast it prints it.

Would re3ally like to see what you can do on a xy-core for high accel vs open loop on a platform like a voron or ratrig.

these are amazing, but i cant help but think the servos are wasted on a bedslinger style design.

Nice setup, I wanna see the Benchy speed run!! Just gotta dial that Extruder and pressure in and you will be golden. Why no closed loop on the extruder?

Ditch the belt drive and go for ball screws. You invested into high precision drives and squander that on belt drive.

this is like using a diamond coated endmill to cut mdf

Is this really as silent as it seems to be? There's more ambient noise than printer noise from what I can tell.

Nice, but with the regular belts its not going to give higher speed or better quality than steppers. Probably it's harder to tune even for the same quality.
