FPV - Brushless Motor Bearing Replacement - Brotherhobby Returner R4 - Quick & Dirty

If you have seen my last 2 videos, you already know that i've had got some vibration issues on my Quads that i never had bevor. I didn't feel the vibrations while flying, but i have seen it on the HD Footages.
So i decided to replace the bearings first, bevor i replace the whole motors. It worked on 3 of 4 Motors. On one Motor i couldn't unscrew the Motor bell.

Tip: it helps to heat the motor bell screw with a soldering iron to release the loctite on the motor bell srew.

This is not a recommendation for replacing the bearings, this issen't the right way - it's just my quick & dirty way to replace the bearings without specials tools.
Be careful with the motor windings, don't touch them with your tools, One slip and the winding might be shot

I will improve my process of the bearing replacement with a matching socket wrenches for the nuts and even try to take the bearings in the freezer first so that they contract and fit easier.

Unfortunately the focus isn't sharp on my video, the objects were too close to the Foxeer Box. The Fish Eye effect isn't perfect for this kind of video as well.
Next time i'll use another camera for this kind of videos.

I hope you like it, like, subsribe, and leave a comment - if you like ;)

I'm building new freestyle frame and found set of these R4 gems and planned to change bearings to them. Exciting to see how these old motors fly nowadays. Thanks for The video man! 👍

Thanks for the tip, I just replaced the bearings of 4 BH 2207 R5, one is still making some noise, maybe it has a slightly bent shaft, will see of the replacement bearing will hold. I put some WD-40 on the new bearing before insertion, it helps a lot. BTW, the original bearing in the R5s had no labelling on them, which is 'interesting' because the are supposed to be branded 'EZO Japan'. I just took apart other motors (PRIMO 2207) which have the 'EZO Japan' labelling …

Well done on getting it right! I tried getting my old bearings out of my old emax rs2205 by tapping them out and destroyed 3 motors lol. I guess it's important to be very gentle and patient doing it this way. I've got to change bearings on my steele motors and I'm just too worried about breaking them as well.

Don't use pliers. One slip and the winding is shot.
