Love how Alfred is using the kindest words possible trying to tell Bruce that he ain’t ready for that smoke with Bane😂😂

When Alfred says "sometimes, a man rises from the darkness" and it shifts to the Batsuit rising up to the ground. That's some foreshadowing right there!

Michael Caine's Alfred will go down as the best Alfred of all time. Mark my words.

This movie made me feel like Batman actually exists & lives somewhere

"You can strap up your leg and put your mask back on, but that doesn't make you what you were."

Alfred, ever the voice of reason and caution. :-)

Christian Bale and the villain actors may have had flashier performances, but at the end of the day Michael Caine delivered all the best lines of the trilogy.

I like how Alfred is a better detective than Bruce. They should call this movie Alfred Rises. The story of an old butler who finally wins his freedom from servitude when the last member of the rich family dies.

I like Michael Cain's version of Alfred. Jeremy Irons was great, but with Cain, you could really see and hear the fatherly love Alfred had for Bruce, which is only natural given their history.

Alfred, is this one of your tangerine stories again?

People don't know this but long before alfred became a butler for the waynes he served his country in the military in special ops. That why he was able to give advise and intel to Bruce on how to deal with character like Joker, Bane etc.

0:45 Right as Alfred was talking about a man rising from a pit, the suit came up from the ground.

"You're afraid that if I go back out there, I'll fail"
"No. I'm afraid... that you want to."

This hit so close to home: I wonder how often do we find ourselves subconsciously wanting the same: to fail.

"But sometimes, a man rises from the darkness. Sometimes, the pit sends something back." - Says Alfred, as the Bat suit rises out of the floor. Subtle, but brilliant piece of directing by Nolan, as this sentence could quite easily appear to Bruce/Batman. They both share a lot of elements. Bane is what Bruce would have become if he'd stayed with the league.

Oh my God. Such a powerful and emotional scene. The look on Bruce's face on 1:40 when Alfred is trying to make him reconsider, it's as if Bruce is no longer understands how else he can give back to his city without giving out his own life.

Caine’s Alfred did a phenomenal job hyping up the villains Joker and Bane in their respective films. He understands these villains better than anyone. From “some men just want to watch the world burn” to “sometimes a man rises from the darkness; sometimes the Pit sends something back”

I love how this scene illustrates Bruce and Alfred's ever-growing distant relationship. In 'The Dark Knight', Alfred would speak to Bruce in front of the Batsuit within nose-length and in 'Rises', Alfred speaks from a couple meters away. I love the subtleties that Nolan includes in his movies :)

Frankly, Alfred's sudden accurate knowledge of Bane is harder to explain than Bruce's magic knee brace.
