“Being poor doesn’t make you bad” Wow! I would have never guessed this man just changed my world view!

It's truly ignorant of him to think that poverty didn't exist before he took this trip. It just goes to show how much more we need to educate ourselves and be more aware of the world around us

The lack of self-awareness in this video is staggering.

I've been pissing myself laughing at this for like 20 minutes straight. The mix of MrBeast copycat editing and the total lack of self awareness is truly one of a kind. This is the best video ever put on the Internet. LMFAO

I used to live in a village when I was around 10-14 years old, let me tell you this walking around barefoot was a good experience I didn't feel any sharp stones, didn't want to wear shoes because I felt free than to be walking in shoes I totally loved it.

the problem here is lads even if he had good intentions, the way he went about it made him look incredibly disingenious, i can give him the benefit of the doubt and say he didnt have any ulterior motives and is just trying to spread awareness and raise money but that doesnt excuse the complete lack of respect he treated these people with.

“Look how I make these poor children happy by waving my rich privileged hands!” How much these boys smile when talking about hardship is disgusting.

I love your Videos but this video is kind of showing one side of the country. I am Burundian, and i have lived in Burundi for most of my life, i am 25 and trust me there is much more to see from that.

Even if we are regarded as the poorest country there is definitely a better side to show. Everyone comes to the country and shows the poorer side. Every country has a poor side. This video felt like going to the US and just filming the homeless people to show the negative side.

You did not show anything positive. Neither did you show any snipet of the capital city and the beautiful places we have.

If you had it hit up someone else, or if i would taken you around, i am definitely sure you would have appreciated way more.

If you read this Fidias, reach out so that we can show the better and beautiful side. It’s sad that you have showed that side of the country. Because there is more.

Anyone reading this, there is much more to Burundi than that.

Fidias, to be honest you really misscharacterized the country. This is not completely your fault, but you should have been aware, that in four days you would not get an accurate impression. I, for example am in the middle of a voluntary service in Dar-es-salaam in the neighboring country of Tanzania. I am living in a modernly-built apartment, in a complex with many students, wo are neither really rich, nor poor. They, so as me, live in a nice place, where the biggest problem is, that sometimes there is no water or electricity for a few hours. Such people exist, and there are many of them. But most people treat the countries as if there were only very poor people here. This kind of missrepresentation in my opinion Leads to the countries not being seen as equals in the global community. There are poor people here, whom we should help, but we should never forget that there are also many people here, who can stand on their own legs, and this is why we should view the countries as equals not as our little projects. I would have wished for you to make this a bit clearer even though I of course really like that you try your best to support the efforts to equality of chances around the world.
Let’s all hope that the planned unification of Tanzania, Burundi, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, South Sudan, and DR Congo is successful, so that a new economically strong country in Africa is born.
