The Ohio State University Marching Band saluted the heroes of Sept. 11, 2001 with its "Heroes of 9/11" halftime show in Ohio Stadium. Song selections included "America the Beautiful," "Only in America" by Brooks & Dunn, "Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)" by Alan Jackson, "The Stars and Stripes Forever" and a medley of official military marches.

More than 150 trumpeters from the Central Ohio were present as the band hoped to break a Guinness World Record for the longest line of fanfare trumpeters with valved trumpets. The group was brought together by Central Ohio 14-year-old Chase Hamilton, who organized the event as part of his Eagle Scout Service Project. The group, which also included Ohio State’s 84 trumpeters, played together for more than a full minute during the show’s first act.

Thanks for showing the half time show! The network didn't think it's important enough to remember 9/11! 😭

It's good to see there are still some people who are proud of the USA!

So fantastic to see a TRADITIONAL marching band - no "front ensemble" playing mallets on the sidelines, no stationary props littering the field; just solid Big 10-style marching and great ensemble playing. New show every game with well-planned and executed formations. Congratulations!!

Thanks for sharing this halftime show on YouTube. The only way the rest of us fans can watch the halftime show.

I'm not a OSU fan but their band is brilliant. I would kill just to watch this band in person.

Good to see TBDBITL back on the field with 110, 000 spectators cheering them on. *Love this band and missed them sorely during the pandemic.*

Wonderful performance! What a beautiful tribute to that day and to our armed forces. I am in awe of how you guys can play that well all while making the amazing formations! That takes real stamina and talent!

Unfortunately even when you can watch the whole game on TV they still don't show the halftime show. There's a bunch of talking heads and in the background you see little tiny flashes of the marching band. It's always irritating but today with the 20 yr 9/11 anniversary it was down right disrespectful and unpatriotic since the show was a tribute of that day.
