I get it. It's about the public removal of dislikes, the Clicks Per Minute pittance of ad revenue, the grotesque sponsorships, and the incentivizing of half baked content at a fast, constant rate. In short, it's just how YouTube's metagame works. Adequately dystopian representation of it all.

At this rate YouTube will remove the comments as they are a waste of time for the viewer as they are reading and writing vs Watching content

haven't seen anyone say this, but the person submitting the forms doesn't know that they're killing people. they simply think that they're copying down information. the screen with the thumbs up/down comes up and blocks the people from view just as the form filler turns around, and looks away as the axe falls. the machinery just sounds like the general ambient noises of the factory. they don't even seem to understand what they're doing or why they're doing it, as seen with them scratching their head, they're just doing what they're told to.

I think this one is about how if you don't like minions or cola, andy will drop an axe on your head.

The music really adds to the feel. The soundtrack of an unstoppable factory

God I love how you can make me spend 10 minutes watching a 30 second video just because each time I watch it, I notice something new and interesting

I've rewatched this so many times just to see all the little mechanisms' individual animations

I watched this like 7 times to catch all the little details, the pealple leaving, the message on the screen, the rules, it feels uniquely dystopian and intense but also transmits entropy, like it just goes on forever and ever. Honestly amazing

Watching this on loop trying to pick out all of the many many subtle details... this is art, and a hella commentary on our current situations.

the music is perfect! Gritty and industrial. Companies only care about big data, doesn't matter for each individual because they don't have time for it. They see us as disposable machines, hence the music, since they can replace you and will always replace you.

If you're wondering wtf is going on I'll explain. The guy in the front is YouTube (or some other media I suppose but I assume YouTube because of recent dislike updates and the red theme) and basically the 3 people in the back are viewers. They watch a product come down from above and have "the freedom to like or dislike" without anyone supposedly seeing their direct opinion of the product or in other words they get to do it "anonymously". Secretly though, the person representing YouTube IS looking at who is liking/disliking and each time a product is voted on, they write on the piece of paper the number of which person it is and they, to put it lightly, "go away". With an axe into their head. Obviously, YouTube isn't actually killing people but the Idea is that they are killing our voices so that products can't be given a bad opinion. It's basically another way to say YouTube isn't removing the dislike button because they care about creators, but because they want people to have a positive bias over ads whether they are a scam or not, because either way YouTube gets money from them. Not creators that they have to pay. YouTube has become such a monopoly though that they don't really care to listen to people's opinions on this but just pretend like everything will be ok. It's not like you're going to stop watching YouTube because of this one little change right? Well no, if this was true YouTube would care because they see you as a product too. What we need is leverage or some sort of proof we will still dislike things and not waste our time with useless shit. If you have any Ideas feel free to let me know though.

I love how quick it all goes, so you have to take your time to read the image bit by bit and piece what's going on, also love the use of red to show YouTube's color scheme but at the same time dystopian.
Sorry if this is confusing to read, eng is not my native tongue

I love hearing Akira Yamaoka's work re entering the zeitgeist. The Silent Hill soundtracks had such an impact on me and lately I see I'm not alone in that whatsoever.
