If you’re looking for how to fix search problems in Windows 10, then you’ve come to the right place.

One of the most useful features of Windows 10 is the ability to search the files on your PC or laptop – as well as the internet – directly from the search box on the taskbar.

Unfortunately, Microsoft has released a number of recent updates for Windows 10 that have introduced issues to how search works in Windows 10 – both from the taskbar and when using Windows Explorer.

For most Windows users, the search bar is the number one utility. If you want quick access to the File Explorer, apps, documents, and email, simply enter a keyword on the search box to get results.

With Cortana out of the way, the Start menu search is a bit more stable and less bloated. Still, it can sometimes stop working, so we’re here to give some pointers on how to fix it.

Windows 8 introduced an awesome search bar that lets you locate any file, process, service, system feature, or installed application on your computer. It can also look up information on the web. And it only got better with Windows 10.

Unfortunately, many users are having trouble with it, reporting that the Windows 10 search bar is not working anymore. In some cases, it does work but doesn’t display accurate results.

Search in Windows 10 is used more often than in previous Windows version. You can use Windows search to find an app, file, setting item, system feature or even search the Internet much faster. However, in some cases, Windows 10 search in Start Menu, Cortana and Taskbar Search stops working: when you trying to find an app or a file, an empty list is returned (as a rule, it happens after installing Windows updates or upgrading Windows 10 build). In this article, we’ve put some basic tips that should help if search in the Start Menu, Taskbar, Cortana or other Windows 10 interface elements doesn’t work properly.

This troubleshooting guide will work Windows 11 and windows 10 operating systems (Home, Professional, Enterprise, Education) and desktops, laptops, tables and computers manufactured by the following brands: Asus, Dell, HP, MSI, Alienware, MSI, Toshiba, Acer, Lenovo, razer, huawei, dynabook , vaio, surface among others.

Finally after 3 months and trying all these and more fixes, this simple fix worked, Hurray!!!!
Restart Windows Font Cache Service
Sometimes, you can resolve Windows Search issues by restarting Windows Font Cache Service. To do this, follow these steps:

Windows key+R, enter services.msc to open the Services console.
In the right pane, right-click Windows Font Cache Service, and then select Stop.
Try to search again.
In the Services console, right-click Windows Font Cache Service, and then select Start or Restart.
