Thank you for the nice explanations in this video, but I think before writing the square root property you need to explain why we use the radical sign ( to denote the principal square root of a positive number, which is only the positive root), then we have to be careful to write a plus and minus sign before the radical sign. Thanks again.

Thank you so much! I am going back to college at 35 and am having to take remedial math so that I can take college mathematics for my major. (17 years is a long time and I forgot everything I learned in high school Algebra.) My remedial math course kind of skipped over this and I was struggling a bit with solving quadratic equations. One of the steps said, "If the equation is in the form (ax+b)^2=c, use the square root property to solve." I went back through all of my notes, powerpoint lectures, and videos (it's an online class) and could not find any reference to the square root property. Being an online class, it was hard to get ahold of my instructor for help. I was rather stuck. I found your video via a google search and it saved my bacon. I will definitely refer to your videos in the future. Cannot thank you enough for making these videos.
