Considering they already were complaining about "fanservice" in games, no one is going to miss them when they go on strike.

Do you remember when the Bayonetta voice actress got replaced with a cheaper option and she tried to organize a boycott? Do you remember how no one cared?

Can always trust people in Hollywood to strike at the wrong time

This is akin to steam engine mechanics going on strike with the advent of diesel.

Hollywood made woke content, lost customers, and went on strike.
AAA Gaming made woke content, lost customers, and went on strike.
"How many times do we have to teach you this lesson, old man???"

They drove off, backstabbed and canceled all of the talented 'problematic' VAs, so just hire them. Bonus: they won't "fix" the dialog for the 'modern audience'.

I feel like a sucker showing empathy to these louts. They admitted themselves that they hate gamers, that they hate me. So, why must I sympathize with them again?

Adult pretenders are not necessary for the creation of video games. At all.

This is not an economy to throw a strike tantrum especially in a field where AI can replace you easily.

Seems like the entire entertainment industry insists on shooting itself in both feet with a submachine gun. And then wonder why their feet hurt.

Game devs: "We're looking at the plusses and minuses of AI."
Voice actors: "We're going on strike!"
Game devs: "Good point! plus : AI does not go on strike."

I'm not a fan of AI replacing artist, writers, voice actors, etc. I will always prefer something that feels "real", let's say.
But I don't feel any pity for these voice actors who act like activists, specially with their shitty takes on things that doesn't have anything to do with their jobs.

They despise and demonize you yet desperately want you to feel bad when they lose their jobs. Flawless logic

Starcraft (1997) used the game developers and programmers for the voice acting. And it is still well regarded over 25 years later.

If Hollywood has taught us anything recently then it's that any voice actor can be replaced by Chris Pratt.

Honestly, Hoyoverse will probably just flip so the characters start with Japanese or Chinese voice actors and not give a damn about English-speaking voice actors for a while.
