In this clip Kratos and Freya pays the the Light Temple a visit and throughout your visit Freya speaks about the Temple. When they approach the light ,Kratos warns Freya about the Temple's light and Freya said that "only a fool would touch the light" and Kratos remember himself not just touching the light but also walking into it. "Mm Good". That was his response.

Really places Freyr's feat in perspective that maybe he was saved cause his mind was currently fucked and without direction cause he was high (soul without direction can't pass on). Meanwhile Kratos was mourning Faye's passing and still does which is why he struggled because the light was able to feed on his greif.


Its not about being killed I think its about not coming back from it and the dangers of time displacement which is a concept I have seen in some canon Elf myths which are super horrifying, a guy friends with an elf attends his wedding in the elf realm but he returns to find his kingdom was long gone and now a different culture has settled there as he was gone for thousands of years.

Though someone said the light was being weakened by the hive constructs last they came there, maybe that is another reason Kratos could have survived with relatively minor time displacement.

And how when they fell into the water maybe Kratos and Atreus would have been in even greater danger of being literally disintegrated or lost in the light with no way back.

This makes me think Freya tried to kill Kratos in the first game before we knew who she was....why else would she tell him to step into the light, while she is afraid to touch it?

Freya indeed told Kratos to step into the light. But heres what i think, she's trying to say stick the bifrost into the light but because she's getting kicked out of the realm so she says it falsely
