5G is the latest generation of mobile networks, and it is a huge step up from what we have available to us today. The jump from 3G to 4G networks was pretty huge – 4G to 5G is many times greater and is almost difficult to comprehend.

5G is an entirely new kind of network designed to connect virtually everyone and everything together, be it smart devices, vehicles, even industrial machinery.

5G will coincide with existing 4G networks until coverage is expanded significantly, but it will eventually evolve into a standalone network that operates independently.

When 2G was evolving into 3G, friends around me was saying, nahh I could call and text someone within 3 sec, why do I need 3G?

Apparently the tower that my phone works off of at home has gotten upgraded to 5G. I just recently got a software update that gave my 5G capable phone the ability to connect with the 5G signal. It's the low level for now but according to a speed test, it had 2ms latency.
