How to kill POISON IVY without toxic chemicals PART 2

Показать описание
So after I found poison ivy growing in the back of my yard, I wanted to get rid of it without using toxic chemicals. So I made a homemade weed killer using 1/2 cup of salt, 1/2 tablespoon of dish soap and ½ gallon of vinegar. Afterwards, I put the mixture in a spray bottle and sprayed the poison ivy a few times a day for a few days. I also poured boiling water on the roots of the plant. I noticed that the leaves of the plant began wilting just a few hours after I sprayed them. Anyway, right around this time, I went on a 3 week vacation and when I came back, I noticed that all of the poison ivy was completely gone! But did it stay gone? A year later, it came back. I knew I needed to take more action, so my husband and I (mostly my husband) dug out the roots. It was not fun and it took a while, but now, 2 years later, there are ZERO SIGNS of poison ivy anywhere in our backyard.
If you can dig out the roots, I highly recommend that. But if you can't, then keep using a vinegar mix and spray it on the poison ivy anytime you see it emerge.
