You CAN spread it to other areas of the body!! I say this knowing ive been throwing away ALL items that touched the urushiol oil, and of course staying away from weeds.

You need Zanful if you have poison ivy!! I’m telling you it’s the best thing I’ve ever used and I used to get it every years and would end up in steroids my eyes would swell shit it was awful. The most important preventive is knowing how to identify the plant and being extremely diligent about keeping your eyes peeled for it every time you’re outside. If you do get Zanful is a bit pricey (around $40) but you get multiple applications. It’s a wash that removes the oil from your skin and prevents itching for hours and hours and helps it heal so much faster. I’ve tried everything and nothing compares I just wish I found it sooner I could’ve saved myself a lot of pain and misery!!

Ive come in contact with poison ivy and the day after it sucks, just being an itchy mess but the day after the pimples arent 3d anymore and are just big dots but dont sting. As long as you dont touch it, (which isnt that hard if it isnt itchy) then it goes away within the week or less

My son got poison ivy really bad one year and after day 3 we had to rush him into the emergency room because his face and neck has swelled up from the rash. Even though my son was bathing everyday sometimes twice a day the rash continued to spread. The ER doctor said we needed to change the bedding everyday because the clear liquid that comes out of the little pimple like bump is how it spreads. So by the liquid getting on the bedding it was spreading it either farther. If it doesn’t spread why do people originally get it on one part of their body but days later have it spread to parts and spread it to kids at schools. My son was never allowed to school unless the areas were completely covered with bandages and/or clothing

Wash it alot soap and water 💦 and use apple cider vinegar and calamine lotion. I've also used vagina cream on it and fever blisters the tube you put on the outside is very similar to Abreva for fever blisters 😅 hey it's alot cheaper and you get a bigger tube

bleach worked for me just mixed like it with water I tried the tecnu kit aswell but overall just mix 60% bleach and 40% water, pop the bumps/blisters and rub/ squeeze your skin with the bleach on a paper towel or rag cleared up mine after 3 days which I had it for over 3 weeks before trying bleach because I was skeptical about it

You can burn the infected area in the shower instead of scratching for relief.

I disagree, having had poison ivy every summer, if I have blisters that open, that fluid caused more breakouts. If I touch another skin surface like while changing clothes, it spreads. I’ve been washing with poison ivy soap every day and after 4 days I still have new spots!
