Thank you for going through the triggers, best practices, and proper explanation of triggers. I think proper understanding of trigger functions are a core piece to complete monitoring as a whole. You helped me accomplish this. I had a project to move from nagios to zabbix and I couldn't be happier. Low Level Discovery for one and out of the box jmx monitoring.

I'm building zabbix out to move away from icinga2 and your videos are the best resource I have come across in my zabbix journey. Thanks for putting in the time and effort. I am currently using the zabbix 5 windows OS agent active template defaults and while I don't have many alerts yet, I will be reviewing the triggers now. Can the triggers be configured with a macro that can be used to override a template value at the host level?

Can you provide more details on sum triggers? The documentation is very lack. I am using xxx.sum(#50, 10m) with an item having the value of 0 or 1. I'd assume if the total of the latest 50 item values in 10m is 50 or greater it would trigger, but I don't see an event until around 100. The resolved is the same trigger expression but with a sum of < 50 and it never gets triggered. Are these triggers ignored if there are not at least 50 values in the last x minutes? What happens to a trigger when the #num doesn't have enough values for that time frame?

Can you do a deep dive in Trigger Dependencies? I hundreds of hosts that depend on a switch, which depends on a router? How do I mass update a group of hosts to depend on a switch?

I have a SQL script, it returns be jobs failed or passed.
I have created an item to give me the script results on zabbix latest data.
I want to create a TRIGGER which greps the word "FAIL" from the item values, which function should I use ?
