The Galaxy S5 marked the end of the plastic era for Samsung, releasing in 2014 and being updated to Android 6 with Marshmallow. How does it hold up 6 years later?

Ok first off, intro is wrong and says 'S6' instead of S5, apologies lol. Didn't even notice.
But hey! Thanks for 200k! Y'all are the best :)

S5 is a Legend. To this day still the best times with a phone. For me.

My mom still uses her Galaxy S5 that she bought a few weeks after it launched. Recently I helped her format the phone and now it actually runs as fast as it did when she bought it. It runs great and most apps run on it well.

This is a great phone! I gave it to my grandmother running a rom based on AOSP on android 9 and she has no complaints whatsoever! Not only does it work perfectly for what she needs, but the fact that I can buy a new battery for her every two years really helps with the longevity! And wireless charging is also quite convenient for her!

Headphone jacks and no interrupted displays.

Good times.

I love the S5. I had a flip phone and went to a used and slow S2. The S5 was my first new phone as I entered high school. This was only 6 years ago. wow where does time go.

Very interesting!!! I purchased my S5 more than 6 years ago and yes, I still use it today, everyday, and yes... I have 3 batteries to switch to at all times...!!! Not forgetting about the other 7 batts ive already put in the trash! 😂 Its in great-perfectly-working conditions, just like yours! 😎 Great Review, Great S5!

I remember that S5 was a strange one when it came out. Some loved the design, and some hated it. But yeah, it was the last Samsung flagship made out of plastic before they went to metal and glass, and it was easy to repair. I think that it will be remembered like that.

Still using my S5.
Great phone.
Slowed greatly in the past year though.
Time to upgrade, but it served me well & the easy replacement battery should be an essential feature on every phone.

It hurts so bad writing S6 instead of s5 in the thumbnail...

I really miss those older phones, they have personality and each manufacturer have their own style. Today phones look and feel identical.

I still use this as my main phone, can be frustratingly slow on the odd occasion but on the whole very user friendly, and decent screen

The galaxy s5 was godly, IP67 water and dust resistance, removable battery, SD card slot, good camera for the time, finger print scanner, heart rate monitor, A HEADPHONE JACK, USB 3.0, you basically got the whole package
