For me it was the head falling down the fireplace, but the creature following you and years later you’re dead and look like the creature was a close second. Damn I still shiver over some of those stories I read as a kid and I’m almost 37 now!

Scary Stories was one of my favorite book series because the stories were pretty terrifying.

I still have all 3 books with the original art to this day ever since 4th grade and the movie does an amazing job adapting the stories to life. I hope there will be a sequel
