Father in law has safe in unattached garage for over a decade or longer. Still looks great, the firearms look great, everything great

Yeah, this is not “why you shouldn’t”, but more like tips on how you safely can!

I have a Liberty safe that I allowed to get soaking wet. I literally left it face-up outside in the rain. It has a digital, push-button, electronic lock. Recently, when I entered the code, I could hear the mechanism functioning but the handle wouldn't turn. I decided to put a pipe on one of the spokes to get more leverage and now the handle just turns freely. I've asked some local locksmiths about this but they are no help. Any thoughts?

Lights are almost useless when you pack the safe stuffed full.

I leave in the Northeast and it gets really humid in the summer. I have a Liberty Franklin 18 safe in my garage. Would an 18" golden rod and two rechargeable dehumidifiers work?

My local safe company insisted that you put the safe in a garage. I told her that is the worst place to put a safe. No climate control and easy to steal out of the garage. Most of these safes will not protect you in a serious fire. I suggest you get another smaller fire resistant safe or even Sentry container and double protect your most valuable items.

Wouldn't buy a safe from Liberty. They will give your combo to the FBI.

Put it in a hollowed out fridge in the garage.
