CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Cujo chases a rabbit, and gets bitten by a bat with rabies.

FILM DESCRIPTION:
Based on a Stephen King novel, Cujo is not as menacing or as frightening as other film adaptations of King's popular stories and especially cannot compare to the 1976 Carrie. Cujo is a happy St. Bernard until he is bitten on the nose by a rabid bat and slowly begins manifesting the symptoms of his fatal illness. His condition deteriorates as he attacks people again and again, until finally, mom Donna Trenton (Dee Wallace) and her son Tad (Danny Pintauro) are trapped inside the family car with Cujo lurking nearby, set to kill them any way he can. A showdown is inevitable but is as predictable as the rest of the film.

The book is so sad because you can here the thoughts that are going across Cujo's mind about the pain and you realize he's suffering the entire time.

The disturbing thing about this movie is how realistic it is. This can easily happen if an animal doesn't have protection against rabies.

I like this story because it doesn't really have a true villain. Cujo's the antagonist, but most people seem to understand he didn't have a choice and was suffering badly both physically and mentally while suffering from rabies, which is a nightmarish virus to endure. You could make an argument for the bat, but it didn't have any malicious intent either, it was just defending itself and its colony against what it thought was a predator invading. The story is one where everyone is a tragic victim of circumstance, which makes it both sadder and scarier, since there was nothing anyone could have really done to avoid what happened.

My dad showed me this movie after watching Beethoven, and told me they were the same dog, Cujo is just his nickname 😥 (traumatized)

*Analyzing this part, I was very sad about this movie and the book. The fact that Stephen King mentions at the end of the book that Cujo was a good dog, but the virus made him a monster is a lot of pity on his part. All of this could have been avoided had Cujo been vaccinated. Tragic.*

Awww this is so sad. Whenever I see animals get hurt in movies it makes me so sad. Cujo was just a cute innocent dog just doing what dogs do, and then he gets bit by a bat and gets rabies.
