The way the opening started was so clean

That first transition from the train to the title is hypnotic

Love how this opening is filled with visual references to a bunch of past bond films. Really does feel like the finale to an epic arc

This song pretty much sets the tone of the movie as well as explains the reality of the situation in double meaning. James feels stupid and reckless for loving Madeline when blindly is still consumed by his tragedy over Vesper that he blindly pushes Madeline away, but doesn’t take into account this was all Blofeld’s doing he just can’t seem to move passed Vesper. He knows deep down Vesper truly loved him and never meant to betray him. Bond felt robbed from the fact Vesper died before he could reconcile with her. Madeline on the other hand feels stupid and reckless to help James due to his inability to let go of the past and being emotionally distant. They both stand on hands of a clock. Madeline reaches out to James. James rejects Madeline as he slowly drifts away on the opposite hand showing him leave from her life. 5 years of time they could’ve spent together that they will never get back.

Watching it in the theater I didn’t think twice about the DNA sequence of pistols going off, but in light of tbe plot and the ending, that visual during the opener really takes on a far heavier weight...killer DNA.

Certainly had the pleasure seeing it in the cinema and I'll say it's definitely worth that six years since audiences seen SPECTRE : the best of five episodes where an outgoing actor departed from the role of 007.

Hopefully it secures Cary Joji Fukunaga's place as a first rate filmmaker - 👍!.
