Indian American entrepreneur Sriram Krishnan, named as President-elect Donald Trump’s AI policy advisor is facing massive backlash from the far right. Accusations of “stealing jobs” and debates over H1-B visas continue to dominate social media.

Chennai born techie Sriram Krishnan has ignited a fierce debate that pits Silicon Valley’s tech titans against populist MAGA or Make America Great Again movement patriots.

Sriram Krishnan is facing angry backlash for his comments involving removing country caps of H1-B visas and the growing tension over the future of US immigration policy, role of foreign talent, particularly from countries like India In Washington's Tech Future.
Krishnan came under fire after far right political activist Laura Loomer shared his tweet about removing the country caps on green cards.
Despite having a background in senior leadership roles in major tech firms such as Snapchat, Facebook, Yahoo!, Twitter, and Microsoft, Krishnan has an edge in Trump 2.0 and he will now play a big role in developing AI policies across various government sectors. However, despite his stellar credentials, Krishnan’s appointment has become a flashpoint for controversy. Critics from the far-right, particularly those aligned with MAGA ideologies, accuse him of embodying Silicon Valley elitism and supporting immigration policies they argue harm American workers. But in a firm show of support…tech billionaire Elon Musk, has some to Sriram’s defense, making the broader argument that the US needs to attract the best and the brightest form across the world to maintain its primacy in the world.

I understand the need to protect American jobs, but then again you have millions of people from all around the world coming here illegally and living under government support while people from india come and earn a living from day one. These H1 visa holders are here for ten years and still they are on a waiting list for a green card. So don't play double role. America has to choose one - do you want illegal unskilled to come here and live on welfare or do you want skilled people coming from India and China and contribute to society?

Elon’s pointed this out before, but it looks like everybody’s forgetting that the issue is illegal immigration, I repeat that for those that are hard of reading ⚠️illegal immigration, However there is support for an increase via legal immigration. Okay, does everybody understand now? 😂

Advising to lift country cap as advising imigration policy. It is also a typical indian style circumvention of decent policies to populate systems with exclusively indians

Trump (no preface deserved), you have no right to say that if a non-american graduates college and work here, they are automatically American. Hell no. There should be rules and laws put in place that make them earn an American status. They took advantage of our system when my husband and I, native born Floridians, could not afford college. Why are you rewarding them with more and not us? Your first big mistake.
