The certificate itself is not worth it, that's true. However the content is really worth it and the knowledge you gain opens to many opportunities

I think it is worthwhile adding the completed Udemy course to your resume. It shows employers that you have gone the extra mile to learn a topic and that you have completed some amount of training hours in a particular topic. I am a Udemy instructor and I bring industry knowledge to my courses, which many students have testified to the tangible value of.

I do get your point that anyone can become an instructor (because who am I), but someone with no university training can very well benefit from learning on Udemy and should include the certificate in their paperwork.

i dont agree...i have gotten recognition (and the Job) because of Udemy courses. I actually have a section in my CV, that i update with any courses i do and books i read...under the title "As an indication for my passion for Learning"

But recruiters care about certification because if they see certificate definately they ask or give questions about that certification or course content so this way is completely wrong about my openion, technical round is only for what you mention in your CV or Portfolio ☺️ and certificate matters the most no matter Udemy or Coursera keep working guys keep learn whatever you love or wherever

No certificate is worth nything unless u have the skills to back itnup

It shows initiative and discipline though so although it doesn't do anything in any official capacity it shows that you have a drive to learn as much as you can about something and I think prospect employers could find that valuable

As beginners with no skills and having find a course with budget .
Don't let this discourage, most of the companies don't care whether you have a certification or not until you have required skills after learning skill set make a bunch of projects to back your skills for it .I actually wasted alot of time in arranging money for courses on course Era or edx ...
If you don't have enough money udemy is the best to aquire the required skills make sure to go through the content before taking it

The instructor status also matters because instructors like Angela Yu, Jose portilla are so great

It is a course completion certificate and same value as any other course certificate.

My Degree also didn't have such an impact on my job interview, than what the projects I had built from the udemy course did. But yes factually he's right, but knowledge is permanent

Most people I know that can no longer afford college and going to Udemy to take courses and putting them on their resumes! Udemy is the future.

It is not always about the certificate you get, but the amount of knowledge and information you get through these courses which you can use and apply to build something and that would eventually help you getting interview calls and offers, sharing my personal experience.

The fact that anyone can create a course on Udemy is a positive not a negative. Plus the fact that someone doesn’t have qualifications doesn’t mean they can’t teach. I’ve met plenty of people who are subject matter experts but can’t find a good way to teach others if their life depended on it. The certificates on Udemy are not meant to include on a CV but the trove of knowledge on the site is undeniable.

There are some very unique healthcare related courses on udemy which were not available on Coursera.

Many recruiters do not care about certificates anyway. The skill you have learned from udemy is what matters 😉

Skills are always important over certificates. 1 skill 10 certificates with no real skills. So better create projects and attach links to your cv or resume rather than buying courses and sticking certificates.

The certs don't count, but they are normally on sale. Don't pay hundreds
