Donald Trump questions Kamala Harris' racial identity at black journalists convention

Former president and 2024 Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump will be taking part in a panel discussion at the NABJ convention. He will be interviewed by reporters Kadia Goba, Rachel Scott and Harris Faulkner.

Mr. Trump's invitation to the convention has led to backlash and debate within the organisation and online.

In 2018, the NABJ criticised Trump for using words such as "stupid", "loser" and "nasty" to describe black women who are journalist.

Following the announcement that Trump would attend a question-and-answer session at the convention, co-chair Karen Attiah said she will step down.

In a post on X, she said "while my decision was influenced by a variety of factors, I was not involved or consulted with in any way with the decision to platform Trump in such a format".
