Original Kuru Kuru

The first thing that came to my mind when I first heard Kuru Kuru Kururin was Puru Puru Pururin. It's probably not a direct reference but pretty nice regardless.

^ The 2002 version is from an anime called "NHK ni Youkoso!" by the way, for those who want to watch it.

one correction (💢💢💢): NHK anime was aired in 2006 so it would be more accurate for it to be 2006 and not 2002 (2002 was when the novel of NHK was published).

Welcome to the NHK is one of those shows that I feel will become more and more obscure with each generation. The art style is just old enough where I find younger people saying they don't want to watch it because it "looks old" which is a bummer.

There is an even earlier one. In 2001, a game released in Japan called "Kuru Kuru Kururin" for the gameboy advance. It later released in the west in 2002 as well. It is... VERY japanese. Like, if you think about quirky old japan-only games, that game fits that selection. Super bright, weird characters, weird but nice mechanics. That game was a big part of my childhood.

Kuru Kuru is Hetra’s(Star Rail game character) Atack sound in Japanise VA. A fan took that voice and a bit autotuned to famous meme music, it also became meme. Looks similar but it has nothing to do with that anime music. just a Coincidence.

I think the "Kuru kuru~" is a meme based on "Monkey Circle" (or something) meme which using the Super Mario World's ending theme.

I'm sure there's more than one variation of Kuru Kuru but this is just one of them. How it came to be is most likely the fact that Kuru means spinning though, though I wouldn't be surprised if the people who made it also thought "ayo, this sounds like the puru puru OP as well"
