In April 1945, the Allies are making their final push in the European theater. A battle-hardened Army sergeant named Don "Wardaddy" Collier (Brad Pitt), leading a Sherman tank and a five-man crew, undertakes a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Hopelessly outnumbered, outgunned and saddled with an inexperienced soldier (Logan Lerman) in their midst, Wardaddy and his men face overwhelming odds as they move to strike at the heart of Nazi Germany.

Things I love about this scene:
-Shows indirect, observed, and calibrated fire of heavy machine gun, a rare sight in Hollywood movies which typically prefer style of MG fire
-Mortar fire, hizz, then distant explosion, keeps looping in the backgroundgreat attention to detail
-Shows regularly ignored "staff officer" routine, exchange of intel, confirmation of objectives, plans the operation (even just a minor one involving a platoon and four tanks) on the map in advance
-The captain has visible wounds on his face, obviously a frontline leader that fights alongside his men rather than a pencil pusher behind a desk
-"Why don't they just quit?" "Would you?" These lines run deep. The GIs are on the winning side, yet their fatigue, frustration, and desperation of facing an equally fatigue, frustrated, but desperate enemy are visible.

"Paste em hard for me. They murdered some good boys today."

Jason Isaacs is fantastic.

- “Where’s your boss”
- “DEAD”
I always laugh a little at the delivery of that line

The cameo appearance of J.Isaccs and Scott Eastwood here is just about right. Both of them had only a few lines however their performances are as equally as good as the others were.Great casting.

Can someone explain for me as to why those possible POWs (around the 0.50 mins mark)stand like that, slightly erect with their hands tied behind their back but their heads planted on the brick wall while the american soldiers watch over them.Is it just standard military procedure or does it signify something we don't know during wars?
