Is Starlink worth it? How hard is it to install? Here is what I've found out.

I don't want to be that guy... silicone and asphalt shingles don't mix, the silicone erodes the tar base and pulls it up. I've had to replace shingles and flashing where people used silicone instead of tar caulking. The starlink is very intriguing good to hear you can get those speeds out away from the city 👍

Thank you, very much, Sir! Your video was the only one (of several I watched) that made sense for its clarity and amount of information given. I'm on a mission to get rid of cable because their cost is now higher than Starlink anyway. I still don't know where to install the "dish" or how to get the cable into the house but I will take your advise of using the app to test and get started!

+1 for Starlink. We're in rural Nevada, off-grid. Works great!

Thankyou for the good video straight to the point review. I’m ordering starlink today as long as the app you mentioned says I’m good to go. Which I never knew existed

THanks so much for your video. My wife and I just bought in Bancroft Ontario. I have been so stressed about internet providers as I need it to keep my job. Any more advice would be deeply appreciated.

Wow, thank you for the video, question what is the monthly cost estimated?

nice vid. We get a lot of off grid folks with the StarLink setups coming into our solar store asking about solar system sizing.. I'm curious what the power/energy is for these ranging from low (no heater, no scanning). up to full on. Also, if you can power it off, say during the day when nobody is home, and then powered back up without any (re)connection issues. Go oilers! (from Edmonton. ;))

Thank you for a great video, Looking into StarLink for our church which is in a rural location and has no other options for high speed internet.

Good to know! I signed up for it when it first came out, they made it available in my area a couple years ago but at that time it was only stationary. I really wanted something I could use for home but also take with me traveling with our camper. Last year the came out with the RV version and I've really been thinking about getting it. I can work remote full-time and it would be awesome to travel 4mon out of the year.

I've had mine for almost a year and love it, I haven't seen any more than 100 Mbps but thats plenty. We are pretty much neighbors so I wonder what the difference is? I've seen -36 and two severe hailstorms that took out all my siding and most of my trees but the dish never even skipped a beat.

Definitely considering going to starlink. Curious if you had any issues late last week when we dipped down to -35ish? I’m in Monarch just outside of Lethbridge and having some of the same issues you were with our max download speeds of around the 20 range. Our upload currently is capped at 2😢

I was considering it for my home. The initial cost and monthly payments unfortunately were higher than other competitors who also gave us faster speeds. We ended up going with T-Mobile Internet though. In our area, we were seeing around 100mbps down and 20-30mbps up. That was about 2 years ago though. T-Mobile added a bunch of 5G towers in our area, and now we see 500mpbs down and 80-100mbps up. All for $50/month with no data caps or bandwidth throttling, and no contract too. Didn't even need to switch our phone carrier to T-Mobile either. But we aren't in a very rural area, so we had options to go with. I know my old home didn't have anything beside dial-up, or very expensive satellite internet ($250+/month) that wasn't even that fast. This is the best option for people out in places like that. Basically as long as you have a good view of the sky, you are good!

I think we need a dedicated satellite for our region (Zambia). But all in all it great

The internet where I am only offers 3 maps download. I've ordered starlink now I'm just waiting.

Looks great! Just got mine in. How long of lag screws did you use?

Stupid question- can I set the dish up by an unobstructed window or does it have to be inside? Great video, very informative!

Any need for a signal booster? Our LTE internet requires a signal booster for devices that are further from router.

I watching this video through Starlink too... this thing its amazing. All the way south of Mexico (Chiapas). The thing i dont like about it its the "type C" thingy in the cable. You cant use some conduit or something to protect the cable.

Question: does the dish continually follow satellites, therefore requiring continuous power? And am assuming that is 110v ? I run solar in Northern Ontario and a simple 12v system although i do have a 175w inverter for laptop.
