February is nearly over, but perhaps the biggest surprise is how popular Helldivers 2 has been. From a sequel to a niche but beloved overhead shooter to a popular live service shooter that could barely facilitate player demand, it's gone from strength to strength since its launch.

Perhaps the most impressive part is how developer Arrowhead Game Studios has achieved this despite all odds. Even with other live service titles failing to make an impact at launch, Helldivers 2 continues to see hundreds of thousands of players on PS5 and PC. Even Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer indicated that he wants it on Xbox.

Bought the $40 dollar version, loved it so much I upgraded to the $60 dollar version just to support the devs cause we need more games like this! I feel like a kid again back in the gold years of gaming with the 360 and PS3 games online with my friends! Game is amazing!

It's not made by, and for, shareholders. The in game economy is actually good. It's not $129.99 currency packs, $65 for a mount or $40 costumes.

I still dont understand the "Armor can only be bought with super credits" and? What about it?
I play the game since launch and its so easy to get super credits, you dont even lose the one your squad found is you lose the match. Armors are sold for 145/175 and some has 250/400, Since the launch i got 700 Super Credits from the Free Battle Pass and 1400 by just playing. Game literally has no problem with micro transaction.

Man, just imagine if a game came out reasonably priced with no overpriced micro transactions, fun gameplay, and communicates with its player base. It’s kind of like a game like that just might be successful.

It’s the 40k, starship troopers, terminator, ODST game that hasn’t been made by the respective platforms. It feels like all 4 of these at once to let you live out multiple war fantasies with your pals all in one place

I absolutely love this game. Because it’s just a great game. No virtue signaling, no crazy plot - just jump in and start firing away. It’s easy to pickup and hard to master. One of the best games I ever played in a long long time!
