Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto has issued a stark warning that Ukraine’s NATO membership could trigger World War III, citing the risks of direct confrontation between NATO and Russia. While Ukraine continues to push for fast-track membership, Hungary remains a vocal opponent, standing apart from other NATO allies. Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, who has maintained close ties with Russia, has also clashed with EU leaders over Europe's handling of the Ukraine conflict and recently accused both the EU and the U.S. of meddling in Hungary's political affairs, deepening Hungary's rift with the West.

Once again, we have von der Leyen the practised liar. It is von der Leyen who has the lust for power, not Putin. And what Hungary faced in 1956, we all of us in Europe face right now. The oppressor is no longer the Soviet Union, but the European Union.

In 1962 America was fully prepared to use nuclear weapons if Russia had persisted with its plan to put nuclear missiles in Cuba that would pose an existential threat to America. (No one could blame President Kennedy for taking a tough stand to protect the American people)
Today, we cannot blame President Putin for taking a tough stand to prevent NATO from putting missiles in Ukraine that would pose an existential threat to the Russian federation.

Hungary is a lone voice in dissagreeing with Ukraine in NATO?🤔
Slovakia does not count?
What about India, China and many other countries opposing it.
That makes NATO the lonelly wolf.

Mr. Szijjarto is right! It would be useful if the US and EU would use some common sens.

Ursula.... "would they ever blame the Czechs or Slovaks for the Soviet repression of 1968?" Nope. That was Brezhnev. He was Ukrainian.

Not an existential threat to his government but for Russia as a country!

Ukraine was always to remain neutral. I blame the US and NATO as they have lied and betrayed Russia on NATO expanding eastward onto their borders
