Dangerous USB Charger Teardown

This £10 USB Charger which became VERY hot and emitted a burning smell after just a few minutes of use. The design was very poor and build quality was worse than an Amstrad Computer.

I have a 5 port Anker USB charger which seems to resemble a proper USB charger, has a trailing lead for the mains and puts out enough amps to stuff 2 ipads full of power in super quick time!!
I would like to see inside. Can you get one to examine?

For charging abroad, I'm just gonna use my Apple plug in charger alongside a normal travel adaptor...

If it started to get hot just leave it plugged into an extension cord on a cement floor and film the carnage as it overheats on it's own. I bought a solar USB charger and it came with a USB mains adapter. I never plugged it in. I refused to use it. Cracked it open and it looked dodgy to me no switch mode stuff just regular transformer stuff like this.

SMPS transformers for 5V low current jobs are supposed to be small. It's really not as bad as you say it is.

And this is why i use an apple ipad charger for ALL of my devices that charge by USB :) say what you want about apple but they do not cheap out on chargers the ipad one is especially good,
