It’s almost like the musicians make more money by talking about music on YouTube than actually making and performing the music.

The "business" of music may be in a transition but "music" is spirit, sound and vibrational. It last forever. Music was never intended to be a "business". Good things regardless of what it is will earn its worth. Music included.

The music "industry" is over. This is a good thing for the little man. Like, myself.

Music was never meant to be sold online in the 1st place. It was meant to be traveled to, bought, and witnessed. It's hard to sell SOUND online

The wildest thing is that people have been asking UMG for an all in one licensing platform for YEARS, but they preferred scaring tactics and shakedowns. They silenced videos and even had their representatives make sure that their music wasn't played in the background of different stores. Now all of a sudden that they've been losing money due to their own business tactics, NOW they come out with a licensing platform? You gotta be kidding me.

Music gives you no feeling, now a days very little real artists 👨‍🎨

Of course it is. Because the bigger artists just layed down and took streaming without a fight. They fought for mixtapes as albums, they fought for ringtone revenue but just rocked with streaming

The digital age was the beginning of the end of real music. It's just finally come to the head.

Hip Hop has turned many of its consumers off .. the consumer isn’t there like it once was .. violent and dark vibes along with easily unlikable characters have hurt the culture tremendously.. I think the drill culture and it’s influence on Hip Hop around the globe was the final nail in the coffin for a lot of people .. Hip Hop won’t die it will always have its cult fans but the numbers in the audience have dwindled ..

Its not over. Its just a weeding out effect. People are tired of the same sound over and over . Theres no creativity. Music is all about a reflection of what people desire. When all this murderous music was being made times were good. Times are now very bad and music is your escape. So that means these guys without a creative bone in their body are going to have to create something to reflect the subconscious need for people to feel good again. No longer will a good beat get you far but you have to be saying something now. I see this as a great thing

I'm a boomer and we were about done by the mid 80's. GenX couldn't relate to our BS and they turned the business upside down. The same thing is happening now.
At 66, the lockdowns didn't take up a significant part of my life. Imagine what it was like for people in their teens and early 20's.
They'll reinvent the music business.

Look, music has almost no value now, music production has no value. Everything about music is instantly available online. Musicians expect everything to be free, fans expect everything to be free. If theres no value soon they'll be no more business and music will just be a hobby for all of us.

This has been a problem that has brewing for years, it's just now starting to reach it's boiling point. I saw the "music industry" heading the wrong way after the 80's
