This coming from a guy who barely has over a Million subscriber despite being a "personality" on this website since like 2006.

The situation is like the cat chasing its tail. Except the tail thinks it's the cat🤣

Not at all. Joe Budden was underground most of his career and never experienced mainstream stardom. He can have a video with a billion views and nobody will ever care about that video again. Also, there's rappers with media personalities, so it's easier to do. Everyone has a podcast so they can spread their opinions.

Media has more staying power then artists. I dont know if I can call that bigger. But i will say once they blowup and just work consisently they stay up.

Idk about all that but the allure of artists is definitely fading for a lot of people.

That's a delusional way of looking at artists idea of promo

They go to these TV Shows and interviews for press runs because it's simply a platform. They do it on every social media page, they'll go on TV, Youtube videos, whatever to promote their music

That doesn't mean you're bigger than them. They're the ones with the fame and sold out shows with millions of followers, you're both using each other, but they're the attraction

I think the relationship between the twain is more symbiotic.

Nice try, Joe... I mean, "Yeah, why would I listen to all the brilliant music made by Griselda, billy woods & Elucid, Alchemist, Muggs, Roc Marci, Black Thought, Mach-Hommy, Fahim, YOD, Pusha-T, Kendrick, Ab-Soul, Nas, JID, Joey Bad, Tyler, earl, Meyhem Lauren, 38 Spesh, Che Noir, Eto, Mickey Diamonds, etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc... when I could listen to Joe Budden talk on a podcast?!?" 🤣🤦‍♂️

The only thing Budden was right about was Outkast as greatest group ever.

I think it has some validity. While rappers are more aspirational figures, podcasters are more relatable and more readily available to entertain their audience. The level of anticipation for new episodes of your favorite podcasts is reminiscent of waiting for Saturday morning cartoons.

It's true but only because of the frequency personalities can push content and be updated in their image. Artist maybe put out a album every year or songs every 3-6 months.

I love Mob Deep, but Outkast does have a better discography.

If Joe is wrong in what he said, then why are the rappers calling the pods for interviews rather than the other way around. Besides, the top tier rappers ducking interviews and every person with a 16 IS NOT A RAPPER. The *MOST OVERUSED* title since 2022 smh "rapper"

Joe is the kid who was bullied in school and then becomes a police officer who tries to wear this cloak of superiority. Joe, nobody cares about you. They care about the people that you discuss. That’s it. To be a mediocre rapper and disparage rappers every chance he gets and to now say he is a bigger influence is weird but hey it’s Joe Budden..
