Kamiya is right! I bet Nintendo wanted to announce the system next month, but the leakers, like always, ruining everything!

Some commentors are gonna miss the point of Switch2, you're judging downstream from the prism of specs. The selling point of this is 1) hybrid 2) joycon control scheme 3) 1st party games. Even if Nintendo were to port games onto other handhelds, a lot wouldn't work. While some conventional games can work just fine, a huge % of their games are designed to utilize the motion features of the joycons.

Here is how i think they can stop scalpers:
1. Limit the amount of online orders retail stores can have of the console to like half their stock
2. not do online orders for the first few weeks of the switch

I was talking to a friend about it. Then in my feed I see OJ’s big smile on his face about Switch 2! Then 4 hrs ago I see postings of official S2 content! I shared that with everyone I could! I’m very excited I now just hope I can get it as soon as possible and not have to wait 2 months after launch like the OG Switch.

i think in norway it used to be so that you had to reserve a game back before digital copies when it was big demand. i used to do it for pokemon games. maybe there should be some system like that, people only be able to reserve one system per phone number or similar

Nintendo should be thankful the leaks were so bad. TBH, the reveal was very underwhelming. Nothing special and no weird “Nintendo” ideas that shocked us. If we didn’t already have our expectations in line due to the leaks, I’d bet they’d be getting dumped on about the Switch 2 being a boring upgrade.

Will be interesting to see what games will be apart of that April Direct because it's also not far off from June/July where they usually have their summer showcases. Unlike the OG Switch launch, Nintendo will have much more to pick and choose what they want to showcase for the reveal, summer and fall Direct. I expect Mario Kart, Metroid Prime 4 and 3D Mario to be their biggest 1st party games at the April Direct. I think ports of Zelda WW/TP, Fire Emblem, Pokemon and Monolith Soft's new project get revealed later in the year. From 3rd parties, I hope to see some of those rumored games (FF7 Remake/Rebirth, Metaphor, Metal Gear Solid, Tekken, etc.) get confirmed.

I am so happy that Nintendo are taking an evolution approach rather than revolution. The Switch is a powerful brand, and it feels like Nintendo have found a product line than can span several generations. Keep it simple and iterate hardware, release amazing is all i wanted. and a switch lite 2 will be nice.

It will definitely be very nice to watch all of your very wholesome Nintendo Switch 2 content🫶🏿.
