So between the failure of Solo, the divisiveness of The Last Jedi and the falling interest in Galaxy's Edge, our good friends in the news media have concluded that Disney Star Wars isn't doing too well. And I for one am shocked!

It's funny, you would think that someone like me, a life-long sci-fi fan who saw the original Star Wars back in 1977, would be absolutely dying to see The Rise of Skywalker. Instead, I feel not the slightest desire to see even a preview. That should worry Disney and the assorted directors, producers, writers, editors and actors that worked on that movie, but it won't. They have no use for the older generation of fans like me and look forward to replacing me with a slew of blue-haired 18-year-olds with the attention span of crack-addicted mandrill baboons (my apologies to all the normal, well-adjusted 18-year olds out there, you know who you are).

This series is deader than Dillinger. But look on the bright side, at least I get to watch some really good scathing criticism from everyone's favorite drunken Scotsman. Cheers!
