The US says a mine used to attack an oil tanker in the Gulf of Oman bears a striking resemblance to mines displayed at Iranian military parades. CNN's Sam Kiley got a first-hand look at the attacked tanker.

This is not 2003 !!! People can't be easily fooled, they're doing the exact same things they did when they wanted a war with Iraq

2:30 “mines displayed in military parades” what a liar, typically CNN shilling for the Military Industrial Complex

There is a reason why those tankers were attacked in such a way that did not destroy them. It's all orchestrated

A mine above the waterline ... think about that. This was clearly meant to seen. Not do any serious damage. This is theatrics with a purpose - likely to sway public opinion.

This whole thing stinks. I'm not buying any of it. The "proof" hasn't proved a goddamn thing to me.

Totally crappy reporting. Why would Iran attack those tankers? How were the mines placed that high above the water line, without the crew noticing? How can Pompeo say that the people on that fuzzy boat video were Iranians? What about the sailors who said that they were attacked with shells or missiles, not mines? Why won't the media let Iran's government tell their version of the story -- in particular what they have to say about that fuzzy boat video?
It is "weapons of mass destruction" all over again. Pompeo and Bolton don't mind working for arch-liar Trump, so they too must think that it is OK to tell lies to the world to help his boss be re-elected -- even, or especially, it the lies start a war.

Can’t tell if this is the Maine or the Lusitania?

If it's an active mine, doing it so casually with so many people rescued on board, is just plain impossible.
If it's an UNEXPLODED mine, they would be far more careful.

I've heard of bulls on parade but "mines in parade"? Really?

Fact checks...The 'limpet' mine (magnetic) has been around and in use since 1939 in many configurations and manufactured and used by many countries, (not exclusive to Iran).. It's simply a mine with a powerful magnet attached to the hull of a ship, and they has been used since the early days of WWll and through out now...

sorry, but presenting some shards that the US navy “found” and a blurry video of an Iranian rescue boat is totally meaningless!
what matters is: who the hell gives america the right to investigate an attack on a Japanese tanker in Iranian waters !? did Japan officially ask for it? NO! did Iran ask for help? NO! so its not their business. Investigations of an attack by an unknown aggressor on a Japanese boat in Iranian waters are the business of Iran. If anyone has the right to join the investigations its Japan. but the US navy has absolutely no right to be there. besides, THEY are the prime suspect. those boats where doing business with Iran instead of the saudis, and thats exactly what the US has been trying to stop with their unjustified sanctions.
with other words.. those boats helped Iran against the will of the US. So why should Iran attack them?!

the way i see it, the US “investigation” that presented first results already an hour after the attack, wouldn’t even had the time to put a investigation team together by then if the attack had surprised them.
what they did was planting false evidence (like those shards) and removing everything that would link them to the attack (missile debris for example). Or what else do you expect from a prime suspect that sneaks around a crime scene right after the crime happened.
No independent investigation would present results that fast and make accusations. most of all not with an important matter like this.

Never forget, we wouldn't be having this conversation if the not so stable genius had not pulled out of the Iran deal. Trump's recklessness and ignorance is solely responsible for the heightened tensions.
